Finished Dicken's masterwork "Great Expectations." Being one of Clay Clay Jenkinson's favorites, I had for it great expectations. I can tell it's theme-dense. Obviously wealth and poverty, class, criminal justice, unrequited love and how about half of the marriages are horrible for the wives, isolation, growing up. It's somewhat a prodigal son tale.

Although so far, I'm finding Dickens generally just a bit too peoply. But some self denial in the interest of becoming better culturally informed is OK.
