Let the People Decide

The traitor's purpose was not to destroy the NSA's surveylance capacities, but to make Americans aware of the systems so they could decide their appropriateness. Which I suppose makes sense, because in hiding one is going to do little direct destruction.

Ah, but if the government finds no reason to make it possible for the vast majority of citizens to provide input on the appropriateness of a system, citizens have obviously decided that that input is not necessary to determining the system's appropriateness.
